Services

Congratulations on your pregnancy. The journey you are embarking on toward parenthood is truly a rite of passage, even if this is not your first pregnancy. I hope that you will take the time to enjoy your pregnancy and grow your baby well. A large part of being a parent is making responsible, informed decisions about and for our children. The choices you are making now are wonderful first steps in doing this.

Listed here are my services as well as what I expect from my clients.

My Services include:

  • 24-hour on-call beginning three (3) weeks before your EDD until you have birthed
  • Prenatal & postpartum visits in your home
  • Lending library and community resource referrals
  • Open lines of communication
  • Care focused around a central goal of empowering the birthing woman
  • Provide breastfeeding assistance, support, and referral

While I do have strong opinions about childbirth, I have no hidden agenda for your birthing experience. My commitment is to help you have the birth experience you desire. I will respect the choices you make. This is your birth for a lifetime. I will discuss your birth plan and desires at length during prenatal visits. I enjoy what I do; and I love and respect moms and babies, as well as the birth process.

My expectations of you are that you will:

  • Remain drug and alcohol free while maintaining good nutrition and hydration
  • Keep yourself and your baby as healthy as possible by following my guidance and suggestions
  • Read books/watch videos suggested by me and return all materials borrowed from my lending library
  • Be committed to your ideal birth and confident in the ability of your body to give birth
  • At all times be open, honest, and direct in your communication with me on issues
  • Inform me of all life changes (emotional, financial, marital) which may affect your pregnancy
  • Call me when you think you may be in labor so that I can make arrangements to attend your birth.
  • Allow me realistic and adequate time to reach you (one hour minimum)

When to call me: Please call me as soon as possible when you feel labor has begun. I will be on call at that point and will begin to make arrangements to come to you. I will keep in contact to decide when you would like for me to arrive.
